I Spy (late)

In the words of Paladin J: GARGLECOX!!!!
I'm just going to pretend that the last few days never happened.
Whatever you do DON'T WATCH THE MOVIE J.EDGAR!!! Don't do it!!! It was so long and boring and So Much DRAMA I felt like my face was going to implode. Thank God I had a slushie and popcorn otherwise it would've been a complete waste. Pina Colada and butter are really complementary flavors, my tongue was happy even if the rest of me was in purgatory.

About to dig in and do the TaxDance. Hopefully this time the IRS won't come breathing down our throats. I'm kinda freaking out though, this is the first time I'll be doing them on my own. And if the guy from the legal office can fubar our taxes then what hope do I have?! Eeep!
Hopefully it will turn out alright, because I'm not an idiot and I asked for help with the one thing that was baffling me. It's nice to look before leaping. *happy face*

I SPY!!!!

This week's prompt was Junk. I promptly renamed the prompt: "Things that make Captain Planet sad" and ran off to a place I found while walking the dog last week. Junk doesn't just make a fictitious 90's super hero with a blue mullet sad; it makes me sad. Part of me wants to burn it into ash so it can do some good. The other, more realistic, part of me realizes that I'll be arrested for setting the woods on fire.

And now everything is breaking on the Internet.... if it doesn't work this time it's just the one picture....

Haha! Success!!!

Poor Poor Captain Planet...

Quirks

When I have to type security words in order to submit comments I think: "Hey that actually sounds like a pretty cool word. Litexy Ntriad, ooooh! That can be a name for the capitol city in a fantasy book." Before I know it I'm liberally sprinkling hyphens and apostrophe's over nonsense letters pretending that, like sprinkles, they make anything look appealing and snazzy.... maybe even edible? *laughs*
And off I go to worlds known only to myself.

Smiling Saturday

There are some things that make me really really happy.
One of them is a character from a Nerdtastic show called Babylon 5.

He looks ridiculous, acts ridiculous, and is funny in the Eeyor 'I'm never happy' kind of way. There are some things he says that never fail to make me laugh or smile.

I couldn't find my favorite quote on YouTube, so I'm going to write it out and post my second favorite bit.

The Quote that never fails to make me smile: "Do you know what this is?Hm? No, I can see you do not. You have that vacant look in your eyes that says: Hold my head to your ear, you'll hear the sea..."

Fracking Friday: B.C. = before common-sense

Alright, so this week has actually been really good. With the exception of Jex's secret squirrel stuff that makes it hard to sleep sometimes. Then I end up crashing on the couch for 3 hours (oops) and forgetting to let the dog out.

But of course something rears it's ugly head and demands that you fuss about it over the internet. And this time I can't stay quiet because to me this smacks of propaganda and divide and conquer tactics.
Let me start off by saying that I don't like griping about politics because I swear the Internet Trolls have little spyware programs that alert them to every new post and comment about the crap. Like ungainly crows they then follow their little spies to your blog and set it on fire!!!
But this time it's ok. Because I feel this is more a problem of common sense.

Birth Control Pills.
Why?!!! WHY?!!! This is so stupid! Really on every account.
IF it isn't broke don't fix it! Sure if you can streamline or boost something effectiveness; do it. But otherwise leave it the Frack alone! There was no outcry that I know of that led to Obama's bill. If anyone knows of a push for this kind of legislation provide me a link in the comments so I can check it out.
As far as I remember, co-pay on B.C. wasn't too bad. Less than cell phone service that's for sure.
Ahhhh! Just AHHHHHH!
All I can think of is Hunger Games, because it's the most recent book I read. The whole presidential debate was getting boring so the President Makers decided to start a huge debate on a gender/sexual/religious scale. That aught to get everyone's attention.
Well it got mine and I do my best to stay out of Politics for my own sanity, so I guess it worked.

So yeah pretty much my only complaint this week is my frustration with where our government is going. Gone are talks about the deficit, jobs, incumbent bastards in congress, and the things that actually matter. Now we're all wrapped around this issue that brings out the worst in all of us. The sexist vs. the feminist, the unconcerned vs. the overly concerned, the religious vs. the other religious. It's sad, it's frustrating, and it shouldn't be happening.

Here are some more links if you're interested. I tried to get the Time report, but unless you're a subscriber you're not privy to their information. Meh.

Huffington Post: Catholic Bishops on Obama's bill
The Washington Post version of the same story as above
The D.C. I don't know if this is accurate, but it has a lot of links of it's own so you can follow the proverbial 'paper trail' if you wish.

I Spy: Colors!

Yay! I love I SPY! It makes my weeks more happy when I'm looking for something different that hidden behind the grey backdrop of familiarity.

This week's prompt has been my favorite so far.

COLORS!!!!!

Typically I don't shop at Target. However, they tend to carry things I like/need.
Lo and Behold the moment I walk in the door I had to take a picture

And that's not all! Apparently the 80's have attacked Target's accessories.

I was going to show you my super awesome bathmat, but the dog kept getting in the way.
This was the last attempt before I gave up.

The stack of Candy I still need to send to Norie!

Come to think of it, just about everything in my house is saturated with color.
I must like it or something.
This is some of the stuff that's on the Television. A dragon statue, a Dungeons and Dragons character sheet in the background, and of course pretty rocks!

My Choice
This is not something Ashes likes to see.
Why?
Because Semi's are freaking scary!!! Not only that this is a Semi that still doesn't know what it's doing! That raises the fright level to x10.
Luckily Jex was driving

Well that's all for this week.
Next week: Junk

Come jump on the bandwagon and snap some shots. Then Link up with Dazee!

Adulthood Ho!

The S.S. Ashes, adrift on the sea of child- ish likeness for most of the year, has pulled into port on the Isle of Adulthood. The crew is split, the joyful against the uncertain. This place is new and strange and not to be trifled with.

Yeah, I feel all grown up today. Almost everything I need to get done is done. Save taxes, which I'm afraid of messing up. But those will be done by the end of the week. All that's left is to watch the clock tick down to the week of implosion known as PCSing with company.
Oh you don't know what this concept is?
It's moving to another state, all the while having friends visiting/helping. A time of unparalleled fun and stress crammed into 7 days. With the final day being a 5k mud race for breast cancer. Oh yes, we're all mad here.

All that's left to do is get a new car. Jex wants a Subaru Baja. I think it suites us... we're a little odd too.

One of the things that has come with pulling into the bay of "realization" off the "cape of I'm too old for that" is all the stuff I tried to do but never really followed through with.
Like the Vlog.

Betcha didn't know that I started my blog not to write but to keep in touch with my family in a way that would be better than letters. Jex and I moved so much, internet has been spotty at best, and we lived in hotels for the first half of our marriage. Letters and e-mails weren't an option. And my family lives in the U.K. giving them a call really isn't much better. Videos seemed like the best option. A pictures worth a thousand words; then a video should be worth a hundred thousand! Right?
Eh, not so much.
I found out real quick that my personality, though shiny and fun, wasn't really cut out for the camera. Though witty and sarcastic I need time to think things through or I sound like a dork... and I say Uhhh and ahhh and ano and hmmm waaaaay too much.
If you're curious a lot of my first posts are videos.
Recently I've seen a lot of stuff that not only has made me miss my friends, but has sparked a new interest in the Vlogesphere. Now I'm not going to run off with my camera and never come back, but from time to time I'll document stuff without text.
Who knows, it may even make you smile.

I Spy a Fracking Friday

I SPY!!
Well... not only was I going to be a day late for ISpy... but I also had a lisdexic attack and switched the prompts for this week and last week. In the spirit of bruised pride I'm going to post a really cute picture and wave my hand like a Jedi so that you'll forget about how lame I am.

A Fracking Friday

Oh God where to begin.

I love my husband... but I am going to KILL HIM. He's recently decided to write a daily task list for me. All in the spirit of helping me out (because there's a hole in my head somewhere that one thing always manages to fall out of) I know but it's starting to piss me off. I'm a grown woman damnit! I don't need some one writing out a honey do list for me! BLARGH!

On top of that, we have to get a new car, move into a house we don't have yet, AND have company the entire time in less than 60 days. Well I guess we don't have to get a new car... but 11-14 miles per gallon is seriously eating into the money we use to buy food.

Oh by the way, F*^%%&*(*)^$#@!!! You gas prices.

DAMN YOU "15 minute hell" work out dvd. Not only did I look like a complete tard throughout the entire workout, but now my thighs are screaming for me to kill you.

Frack You mother nature, you and your warm weather and stinky yellow spores and making my dog shed all over. My nose hates you and so does my poor asthmatic vacuum cleaner.

In closing I would like to take this time to remind people that I am not a good pen pal. I will not write on a regular basis because I feel that I don't have much to write about that one would enjoy reading. Hence the blog; where people can read and if they don't like it leave and if they do then Yay!
I have told everyone who has ever met me not to expect a lot of FaceBook messages, posts, or the like. And if I send you a letter or a package once every few years that means I think about you a TON so feel loved. Also I'm a NERD, I do not initiate conversation very often. I'm awkward and my opening phrases are about as ungainly as a baby horse, every one knows this! So stop giving me guilt trips on FaceBook about not messaging you! or calling or whatever. My nature will only change if something drastic happens or I find that 'welcome to adulthood' class I seem to have missed somewhere along the way.

That is all... Carry on.

Off Kilter Observations

No matter how hard you try, you cannot suck in your hips.
